Soul: Plight That Gave Woman Flight

And let it be known once more that until woman and man recognize and realize equality, social and political progress here or anywhere will not be possible. For the world of humanity consists of two parts or members: one is woman; the other is man. Until these two members are equal in strength, the oneness of humanity cannot be established, and the happiness and felicity of mankind will not be a reality. God willing, this is to be so.

Thank you for referring to me by that somewhat inspiring name
Thank you for reminding me we're living in a special time
One in which man and woman are considered the same
One in which stating that word should be considered a crime

Beautiful
Independent
Tender
Caring
Heroine

Each day, women live by each letter
Stand with dignity and talk
Pray women will be released from their fetter
Live with equality and walk
…The woman is indeed of the greater importance to the race. She has the greater burden and the greater work. Look at the vegetable and the animal worlds. The palm which carries the fruit is the tree most prized by the date grower. The Arab knows that for a long journey the mare has the longest wind. For her greater strength and fierceness, the lioness is more feared by the hunter than the lion.
The woman has greater moral courage than the man; she has also special gifts which enable her to govern in moments of danger and crisis….

  1. I don't think that men and women are equal. I feel that both have positives and negatives to bring to the table. To state that women have greater moral courage than the men is not accurate nor does it give the men credit. I think in todays society there tends to be more of a need to make women equal or better than men. In reality, we are both strong in our own ways and that should be admired.

  2. I am not sure I understand this post. Are you stating that women are better than men? Or women are to be more respected than men? I'm confused.

  3. Kim and Pam -- Thank you for sharing your perspectives.

Neither are women better than men, nor do they deserve more respect. I believe in equality in the sight of God and thus deserve equal rights and opportunities in humanity.

I agree that both women and men bring positives and negatives to the table. Together they are unto like the two wings of the bird -- although slightly different they have the same divine purpose and work together to fly in the same direction. One of those aspects that women often bring to the table is "moral courage" and "intuition" among others.

I would love for readers to share which are the characteristics and/or strengths of woman and man that work together to progress this ever-advancing civilization.

  4. Ok. I guess I read something different when I read your blog entry. I do think that the world works better when both women and men work together. However, there are often times when it does not work and causes more issues than its worth. I was in a marriage where it was perceived equal. I feel that there are men that will make it seem they value women's moral caurage and intuition but when faced with it head on, they become aggressive. So in theory, its a great way to think but in reality its a whole different ball game.
